Imax=200kA(8/20μs)

BT BM200 275 RM/3+N is built for the point where high surge capacity and practical panel integration need to work together. Its 3+1 circuit separates L-N and N-PE protection, using high-energy MOV and GDT elements within a coordinated TT/TN-S arrangement. Rated for up to 200kA maximum discharge current, the unit also brings maintenance into the design through dual thermal disconnection, visible fault indication and optional remote signaling. It is intended for indoor three-phase sub-distribution boards.

Features

1. 3+1 Circuit Configuration: The protection layout separates the three L-N paths from the N-PE stage, matching the requirements of TT and TN-S three-phase systems.
2. High-Energy MOV and GDT Elements: MOV technology is used on the L-N paths, while a high-energy GDT provides the dedicated N-PE protection stage.
3. 200kA Maximum Discharge Current: The device is rated at In 100kA and Imax 200kA under an 8/20μs waveform, providing substantial surge current handling at sub-distribution level.
4. Double Thermal Disconnection: Two thermal disconnection devices are incorporated into the protection design to respond when abnormal conditions occur within the SPD.
5. Flexible Power Connection: Terminals accommodate both conductors and red copper busbars, giving panel builders more freedom in how the SPD is integrated into the distribution assembly.
6. DIN-Rail Panel Format: The eight-module unit mounts on a standard 35mm DIN rail, keeping installation consistent with conventional low-voltage distribution equipment.
Surge Protection Device (SPD)

Advantages

1. High Capacity Without a Separate Protection Enclosure: The 200kA rating is packaged in a DIN-rail format that can be incorporated directly into the sub-distribution board.
2. Clearer Protection Coordination: Separating L-N and N-PE functions gives the circuit a defined protection structure rather than treating every conductor path in the same way.
3. Easier Maintenance Decisions: A visible red fault window tells technicians when replacement is required without relying on additional testing during routine inspection.
4. Ready for Centralized Monitoring: Where remote supervision is required, the optional signaling contact allows SPD condition to be incorporated into the wider monitoring system.
5. More Practical for Panel Assembly: Compatibility with both cable conductors and copper busbars helps the product fit different switchboard construction methods.
6. Additional Thermal Safety: The double thermal disconnection arrangement adds another level of response when internal protection components reach an abnormal condition.
Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor (TVSS)

Applications

1. Indoor Sub-Distribution Boards: Installed at secondary distribution points where downstream low-voltage equipment requires surge protection.
2. 230/400V Three-Phase Networks: The 275V version is specified for nominal 230/400V AC systems.
3. TT Electrical Systems: The 3+1 arrangement provides separate L-N and N-PE protection paths for TT network configurations.
4. TN-S Electrical Systems: Suitable for TN-S installations requiring coordinated three-phase and neutral-to-earth surge protection.
5. Panels Using Copper Busbars: The multifunctional terminals allow direct integration into assemblies using red copper busbar connections.
6. Monitored Distribution Panels: Optional remote signaling makes the unit appropriate where SPD status needs to be checked from a centralized monitoring location.
